Carmen Costea | Principal of Genesis College Theoretical High School
Carmen graduated from the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences, Pedagogical section, at Bucharest University, and has a Master’s degree in Education Management and Evaluation from the same university. She attended various educational courses and trainings, eg Educating Children without Violence – Positive Discipline offered by Save the Children Foundation, or Methodology of Schooling and Career Counselling and Orientation offered by the Institute of Education Sciences. She also took a specialisation programme in mentoring. Carmen has vast professional experience: she was involved in various educational projects, from career counselling for the programme Innovation and Performance in Professional Development of Teachers Wotking in Urban Areas, to being a trainer for the third module of Information Technology and Didactical Strategy. She has more than 20 years of experience in psychological and pedagogical counselling, both in individual and group settings. Before coming to join Genesis in 2017, Carmen was an expert in counselling and orientation, taking part in the project Validation of Key Competencies for Students in the County of Ilfov. She was also a psychological and pedagogical counsellor for individuals and groups, schooling and career counselling, and coordination of education programmes and projects.
Goals: As a teacher I focus all my attention on teamwork (teacher-student), on self-management and initiative, and I always try to balance how to to a specialist in my area of study with how to be a trusted mentor for the student. As Principal of Genesis College Theoretical High School my goal is to inspire each student to feel welcome here, connected as part of the Genesis Community. My mission is to build a culture of inclusion where everybody feels integrated and each student has a voice that is heard. Personally, I love to travel and read books.
Carmen Costea
Diana Chelbașu | Romanian language and literature Teacher
Diana is a graduate of the Faculty of Letters at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iasi. She received a master’s degree in the field of Romanian Literature and Literary Hermeneutics, she has seven years of teaching experience and obtained the II teaching degree. Her hobbies include reading and travelling.
Goals: Literature pushes man to overcome his limits and shapes his personality. I aim to cultivate my students’ fascination for the world of books, where they have the opportunity to discover a magical universe. The book of my heart is “The Most Beloved of Mortals”, by Marin Preda. I think that’s how teachers should be, people loved by students, because they teach them with love, dedication and patience.
Diana Chelbașu
Valentina Dima | Romanian language and literature Teacher
Valentina graduated from the Faculty of Letters at the University of Bucharest and holds a master’s degree in Iconology from the Department of Comparative Literature, with a thesis on the Belgian painter René Magritte. Within the University of Bucharest, Department of Literary Studies, his doctoral research topic is the Female Detention Memorials from Communist Romania. She worked for a period as a volunteer within the Child’s Heart Foundation, providing homework support for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Goals: I believe in the words of Constantin Noica, that the true school is the one where you don’t know who gives and who receives. I like to read and travel. I want my professional training to be continuous, to leave my mark on the quality of the educational process, so that my students can achieve excellence and acquire the necessary skills in accordance with the natural evolution of society and knowledge.
Valentina Dima
Romanian language and literature Teacher
Ioana Mîndruț | Mathematics Teacher
Ioana Mîndruț is a mathematics teacher and MYP coordinator, PhD, International projects & Personal Project school coordinator. She completed her higher education studies in 2013 at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, and her psycho-pedagogical studies for middle and high school at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. She joined Genesis College in 2018, when the school was preparing for IB Middle Years Programme accreditation, during which time she gained a wealth of knowledge and skills from the specialist courses offered by the International Baccalaureate Organization.
In 2020 she took over the coordination of the IB Middle Years Programme and, together with the team of teachers dedicated to the IB’s mission of creating a better world through education, she learned that each stage comes with many challenges and endless opportunities to evolve, act or reflect on the learning process to become better learners. In the projects she has carried out with the students she has been involved in volunteering in support of the local community, both in the social and environmental directions. Community service learning is one of her favourite components of the IB Middle Years programme,
Goals: Both from my perspective as a teacher and as MYP coordinator, I look at the road I have embarked on with the Genesis team with optimism and confidence, convinced that all our intentions to contribute to the development of sustainable education will bring long-term benefits.
My objectives as MYP coordinator are:

Ioana Mîndruț
Marian Marin | Mathematics Teacher
Marian Marin has 20 years of experience in education and chose the teaching career out of love for mathematics and children. He graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Bucharest in 1997, majoring in General Mathematics – Computer Science, and in 2017 he graduated from the interdisciplinary master’s degree in Biostatistics, from the same faculty, majoring in Statistics. Since 2019 he is a PhD student at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, in Applied Mathematics. And because the discipline and rules specific to mathematics can manifest themselves in several fields, Marian is also passionate about traditional martial arts, psychology and chess, being a martial arts sports instructor. He also has a specialisation in coaching. At Genesis College, he is the coordinator of the Mathematics and Science curriculum area, and of the Mathematics Without Borders competition, local stage, and he spends his free time reading and travelling. For him, brainstorming and children’s desire to perform are at the heart of the learning instructional process.
Goals: I want my students to evolve and I give them my full attention. In this way a relationship of mutual respect and recognition is formed, which fosters learning. As professional goals, I have in mind:
- integrating mathematics, coaching and martial arts knowledge into the classroom teaching and assessment system;
- for students and colleagues in the school, to propose traditional martial arts classes to develop the concept of unity of mind, body and spirit.
In terms of personal development, I want to broaden my perspectives in PD by attending training courses and completing my PhD thesis.
Marian Marin
Eliza Aftenie | DP history teacher
Eliza has a doctorate in History, after graduating from the Faculty of History at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, Iasi, and Paul Valery 3 University in Montpellier, France. She has experience both as a teacher and a researcher. Eliza is interested in fields such as anthropology, social studies, philosophy, arts and cinema.
Goals: “Human memory is a rich trove of information and experiences, and each of us can become the creator of our own life only if we open the windows of our mind, if we have the courage to think, to ask questions, to debate, to break away from paradigms. I want to help my students to overcome their limits and to know the past”.
Eliza Aftenie
DP history teacher
Dragoș Pârcălabu | History Teacher
Dragoș is Principal of the Genesis College Theoretical High School, a teacher of History and Co-ordonator of the Genesis Event Centre. He is a graduate of both the Faculty of History and the Faculty of Theology at Bucharest University. His passion for the interpretation of ancient texts led Dragoș to further his university studies with a master’s programme in Theology and Biblical Archaeology at the same Bucharest University. He also holds a Doctorate in History from the Nicolae Iorga History Institute of the Romanian Academy. He teaches History at Genesis College from 2014 and he started the project ArtFel de Istorie – a school competition that succeded in involving schools from all over the country. The project was launched by the Genesis Foundation together with the National History Museum of Romania, and proved to be a national success. Before joining Genesis, Dragoș also worked as an archaeologist and etnographer.
Goals: As a teacher, I want to make history an important part in the better education of young generations. I’m excited to share my acquired knowledge by using multiple resources so as to teach students about historical figures and events that shaped the world. As Principal of the Genesis College Theoretical High School, my goal is to help students achieve exceptional results in their learning, both under Romanian and international curricula, and after graduation go on to study at top universities all over the world. I am passionate collector of religious ikons, engravings and ancient weapons, and an enthusiastic reader, but I also enjoy travelling to places that played an important part in history
Dragoș Pârcălabu
Ioana Gheorghișan | Physics Teacher
Ioana graduated from the Faculty of Physics at the University of Bucharest, majoring in Physics and Environmental Protection, class of 1997. In 2000, she received a master’s degree in the field of physics of the atmosphere and the terrestrial globe, from the same higher education institution. Also, out of a passion for history, she attended the undergraduate courses of the Faculty of History at the University of Bucharest, class of 2002.
Goals: I am passionate about exact sciences and working with children. With calmness and patience, I can get closer to my students and together we manage to go through the mysteries of physics. I want to be able to continuously develop professionally and any element in this process is transformed into a favorable factor for a quality educational policy. I like to spend my free time with my family and friends, reading, travelling, watching documentaries or science shows.
Ioana Gheorghișan
Andreea Bîgu | Biology Teacher
Andreea graduated from the Faculty of Biology, majoring in Ecology and Environmental Protection, at the University of Bucharest, and is currently attending courses at the Faculty of Law, Titu Maiorescu University, and for a master’s degree at Alexandru Ioan Cuza Police Academy, in the field of Applied Forensic Research. She carried out volunteer activities at the Antipa Museum of Natural Sciences and with the WWF, before becoming a full-time biology teacher at Cezar Bolliac Secondary School, and then joining us at Genesis College.
Goals: Being a very active person, I manage to teach my lessons in an interactive way, making the students derive great pleasure from diving deep in the subject that deals with the study of life. My current field is helping me to develop the cognitive abilities necessary to fully understand human psychology and behavior, starting with the students I teach. Also, the fact that I teach both middle school and high school students helps me build my experience as a teacher. The fact that this is my second year as a teacher motivates me to get even more involved in this school, full of students eager for knowledge and performance, but also with a group of teachers who are involved and passionate about their work. I want to leave my mark in a positive way and help build the education of my students, through the classes I teach with passion.
Andreea Bîgu
Georgeta Tudor | Teacher of Physics and Chemistry
In 1980 Georgeta she graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Physics section, at the University of Craiova, and in 1992 she obtained a specialization certificate in Computer Science at the Computer Science Training Centre, Bucharest (ICI). She attended further training courses as a teacher and then obtained qualifications in Modern Didactics in Physics, Management, Education and Accounting. In 2009 she completed the Master’s Degree in Educational Management at the University of Bucharest, Department of Distance Learning – CREDIS, and in 2012 she obtained the qualification of Expert in Educational Management from the National Register of Experts in Educational Management. She then followed a professional retraining program, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Faculty of Applied Chemistry and Materials Science, Chemistry Specialization. From 1990 to 2022 she taught physics and chemistry to students at the Elena Văcărescu Secondary School in Bucharest. She instilled the passion for the two sciences also to the students of Genesis College – gymnasium level, from 2016 to 2019, and since 2019 she has been teaching Chemistry at Genesis College Theoretical High School. In the same year she participated in the workshop Sciences: Implementing the MYP curriculum (Cat.1), organized by the IB Online Professional Development department. Beyond the chemical experiments she performs in class, she is also passionate about cooking and enjoys listening to classical music.
Goals: At the heart of the MYP system is the idea that education is the result of dynamic interactions between the variables of the education system, such as learners, teaching/learning, the environment in which teaching/learning takes place and the development of competences. The method of scientific investigation I use in teaching chemistry concepts and the use of integrated experiments in lessons helps students develop scientific skills and better understand the world around them.
Georgeta Tudor
Mihai Coman | Geography Teacher
Mihai graduated from the Faculty of Geography at the University of Bucharest, and because he was always passionate about nature, he continued his studies with a master’s degree in Geomorphology and Environmental Protection at the same university. Later, he followed several training programmes at the Bucharest Institute of Geography in the field of Natural Hazards and Sustainable Development of Mountainous Regions.
Goals: I want to pass on to my students the passion for nature, for the environment in which we grow and develop, and I want them to be aware of the need to keep our Home, the Earth, as little altered as possible for future generations. That’s why I propose to discover together as many secrets of our planet as possible.
Mihai Coman
Oana-Mihaela Cojocariu |German language Teacher
Her passion for the German language led her to pursue numerous specializations and further training in Germany, and to pass on the knowledge she gained as a teacher and trainer. She attended the Faculty of Letters at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iași and obtained a DAAD scholarship at the University of Konstanz, Germany, where she also participated in a seminar to improve her German and teaching methods. As a translator and field reporter for TVR Iași, she translated reports from Deutsche Welle. As a pedagogue, she taught German in Iași and Vaslui, at primary, secondary, high school and post-high school levels, at the Ștefan Bârsănescu School in Iași. Oana also held the position of Assistant in the language department at the German Cultural Center in Iași, that of a language trainer at the International House Bucharest, and she was director and teacher of German language at the Maria Montessori Primary School in Iași. She completed courses in Educational Management and translated books from French.
Goals: Don’t let a day pass without hearing, seeing or reading something beautiful, said the great Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. For my students, I want the same thing: that not an hour of German goes by without them learning something beautiful.
Oana-Mihaela Cojocariu
Ion Fărcășanu | French language Teacher
Ion graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Bucharest, with a teaching degree in French Language and Literature and Romanian Language and Literature. He also holds internship certificates issued by the Cooperation and Cultural Action Service of the French Embassy in Romania, the Regional Center for Francophone Studies for Central and Eastern Europe and the Foundation for the Development of Civil Society. He was a vice-president of the Romanian Association of French Teachers and is a member of the National Commission of the French Language Olympiad, of the National Commission of the French Language within the Ministry of Education, as well as the organizer of the DELF exam. Ion graduated from training programs organized by the French Embassy in Romania, The French Institute in Bucharest and the Ministry of Education, and is the creator of the assessment items within the INSAM project for digital tools to improve the quality of assessment in pre-university education, and a trainer in teacher training projects. His passion for the French language led him to stimulate other people’s interest in this culture, as a teacher and author of textbooks and workbooks. He is a full teacher at Jean Monnet Theoretical High School in Bucharest, and now he has joined Genesis College Theoretical High School. His most treasured values are responsible pedagogical freedom, equal opportunities for students, and solidarity between teachers, parents and students.
Goals: I aim to teach gently, to anticipate and to respond to students’ needs in a competent manner and with mutual respect. Multilingualism is a value that enriches all nations in any era, and the French language is an asset that opens up unsuspected paths.
Ion Fărcășanu
Dana Lupu | MYP & DP English Teacher
Dana became an English language teacher because of her two great loves: English language and literature, and a true passion for working with teenagers. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters in Bacău, majoring in English Language and Literature, he pursued Master’s studies in Communication and began working with high school students using creative methods and techniques. Next, Dana studied and worked for 13 years in the Netherlands and in Brazil, where she developed her passion for creative writing and painting. Dana encourages students to use their own creativity with great courage, to believe in the importance of culture and education, to continue their own development through reading, travel, art and culture, creative thinking. Beyond the desire to understand, inspire and encourage teenagers,
Goals: My daily objectives feed my passion for being a teacher and are the ones through which I want to cultivate in teenagers the desire to read and learn continuously. I want to help them think creatively, have the courage to have their own ideas and express them freely. I always want to inspire and encourage them in the direction of creative writing.
Dana Lupu
MYP & DP English Teacher
Mayssam Hamamah | ICT MYP Teacher
Mayssam holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Baghdad, College of Science, and her graduation project focused on the development of an Image Enhancement System in the C compiler. Since high school, she has been passionate about programming languages, a field she has deepened in order to be admitted into the Faculty of Informatics. She then fulfilled her dream of becoming a programmer, and 20 years ago she came to Romania, where she inspired many students to become successful IT professionals. At Genesis College, she teaches Computer Science and Information and Communication Technology in the MYP system, in the Cambridge IGCSE system and in the Romanian system. Her work included numerous MYP projects, competitions and lessons on Microsoft operating systems, hardware, software, the binary system and various programming languages.
Goals: My main goal in working with Genesis College students is to follow the curriculum that is designed in accordance with the MYP framework and international curriculum. It provides a learning environment that encourages students to think creatively, critically and reflectively.
Mayssam Hamamah
Petru Vîrna | Computer science Teacher
Petru graduated from the Technical College of Computing within the Politechnics University of Bucharest, and the Faculty of Automation and Informatics ate Valahia University in Târgoviște. He is passionate about digital technologies, computer engineering, programming techniques and languages (C++, Java, Python) and, last but not least, robotics, being the coordinator of the Genesis College Robotics Club.
Goals: My main goal is for the Genesis students I work the curriculum with to be able to understand the scientific, social, and research ways that the exact subject matter brings together. Thus, they can find effective methods of solving problems by thinking critically, analyzing and identifying programming elements and exact codes.
Petru Vîrna
Corina Sârbu | Profesor de design
Corina graduated in 2002 from the Bucharest National University of Arts, and is a Doctor in Design and Graphics; she also holds a Master’s degree from the Bruxelles Universite Libre, and took Graphics & Design courses with the Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in London. She has vast professional experience, including 20 years in Advertising, winning a series of international awards in various competitions: Epica Awards, ECO Awards and First Prize with Lions Club Romania for the first Neolithical Museum dedicated to kids, in Vadastra Village, a project meant to revive old pottery traditions in the South of Romania. She is a member of the Union of Fine Arts Professionals, Bucharest Design Section, and over time she held several personal exhibitions in Bucharest art galleries, in the areas of performance art, action painting and installations; she published papers in design magazines and wrote a book about branding, focusing on the logo as a central element of visual identity. Corina initiated the Manga Arena cartoon competition, the very first school competition dedicated to Romanian fans of the Japanese style.
Corina also works as a coordinator of personal projects within the IB study programme, and she regularly maintains communication with reputed cultural institutions in Romania to facilitate cultural events organised by Genesis College.
Goals: I joined Genesis College because I wanted to be able to shape and guide the next generations in their attraction to the fascinating field of design and visual arts. I want to encourage kids to choose a future career in design, be it in interior design, graphics, fashion or object design. As part of the IB programme I try to pursue with my Genesis College students as many cultural and social projects as possible, in an attempt to help them grow and develop their personal strengths under the mission of the International Baccalaureate programme. Creativity requires a lot of courage, to quote Henri Matisse, the famous French painter, and that is why I want to make kids look inside themselves and discover incredibly wonderful things, that can give them wings for the future, but above all to help them learn not to be afraid of failure.
Corina Sârbu
Paul Meraoru-Lungu | Physical education Teacher
Paul is a nationally successful coach with patience and experience in coaching children of all ages. He graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, and has a master’s degree in School Physical Education and Sports Management, with a double specialization in basketball and football within the same faculty. Paul is a former basketball semi-professional, with a positive attitude, empathy, and multiple national level accomplishments from junior to professional.
Goals: I love sports, and through my role and the responsibility I have towards my students, I want to pass on good practice to them by teaching new elements. I always think about what each student I work with needs to achieve and this aspect helps them develop the necessary skills.
Paul Meraoru-Lungu
Alexandra Petrescu | Diploma Programme Coordinator
She is an English teacher and IB DP Coordinator, with vast teaching experience in international schools, where she has participated in the development and evolution of many generations of students for whom she has been an English teacher. She graduated from the University of Bucharest with a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature (English and Portuguese) and earned a Master’s degree in Education and Applied Linguistics from the University of San Francisco. Alexandra is certified in Media and Technology for Education, a program she followed at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. From 2010-2012 she taught English at City College of San Francisco, where she developed educational programs, lesson plans and enrichment activities. Alexandra has been an IB English A examiner at the International Baccalaureate. She has guided and encouraged the development of students in international schools as an English language and literature teacher in the DP and MYP system, coordinator of the Theory of Knowledge program and head of the English Department. Genesis College students benefit from her experience as an IB program expert, adapted to teaching English language. She has coordinated numerous generations of students in writing TOK essays and preparing for internal assessments. She implemented the Theory of Knowledge course, which runs for two years of the Diploma Programme. She has also coordinated the Extended Essay course within the DP with very good results. Her objective is to encourage students to work continuously, to develop their creative thinking and not to give up their passions, promoting independent and active thinking in society.

Marian Popescu | Filmmaking Teacher
Marian has been a professor of filmmaking at Genesis College since 2014. He has extensive experience working with students, and his creativity and passion have always combined original techniques and styles to create artwork that inspires and challenges audiences. He graduated from the University of Theater and Film and the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications in Bucharest and has a degree in acting. Marian’s passion has always remained cinematography and thus he decided to spend most of her career in area of educational filmmaking. Marian has directed and acted in a number of successful films and has won several awards for his work. Over the years, he turned his attention to education and became a passionate teacher, working with students at Genesis College.
Goals: I want to participate in the development of educational filming programs for Genesis students and to promote a creative and innovative approach to film production. I want to create a stimulating and inspirational environment for talented young people and encourage them to develop their skills and talents in an authentic and personal way. My personal goals include expanding my portfolio of films and creative projects. At the same time, I want to maintain a balance between my film career and personal life.
Marian Popescu
Alina Sava (Oprea) | Teacher of Logic, Argumentation and Philosophy
In 2012 Alina graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy and Socio-Political Sciences at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iași, and in 2014 she received her master’s degree in Political Communication and Electoral Marketing at the SNSPA University in Bucharest. In the 2016-2017 period, she attended the Foreign Policy and Diplomacy course at the Romanian Diplomatic Institute, and in 2022, the Curricular Qualification training program for teaching socio-human subjects, of the Didactic House. She was Marketing and Communication Coordinator with the Association Community Aid Romania, Bucharest. She also coordinated the Ready to Fly project, which aimed to integrate institutionalized children into the labor market. She is the coordinator of the Communication and PR office at the Lupu & Partners Law Firm, and as a manager within the Cambridge Center Bucharest, she coordinates the Cambridge methodological framework and promotes the educational package offered. She is certified as a Project Manager within the Repere”Association and has also obtained the trainer qualification from the National Certification Authority. In 2010 she was a representative of the Romanian media in the Information Office of the European Parliament, Brussels, and in 2015 she coordinated the Iftimie Elisei Cross project, an event dedicated to underprivileged children. In September 2022 she joined the Genesis team, where she supports the development of students in the social and humanities teaching classes.
Alina Sava (Oprea)
Marius Văduva | Music Teacher
Marius started studying violin and piano as a child at the School of Music and Fine Arts in Târgoviște. His passion for music later led him to the Music High School, and then to the National University of Music in Bucharest, where he graduated from the Faculty of Composition, Musicology and Music Pedagogy in 2007 and received a Master’s Degree in Jazz Piano – Light Music in 2009. His musical activity has been developed on two levels: artistic and pedagogical. In the artistic field, he has had numerous concerts on stages in Romania and other countries, such as Italy, Germany, Sweden, Spain, England, Moldova and Canada. The production studio and the stage have opened up lasting collaborations with artists such as Smiley, Horia Brenciu, Delia, Grigore Leșe, Trupa Parlament and others. He is the founder of the jazz-pop music project M-Yards, in which he composed and orchestrated the tracks of the album released in 2018. In the pedagogical field he has an experience of 12 years in the country and two years in Canada, working as a teacher of piano, violin, music theory and orchestration. His passions include fishing, tennis, football and travelling.
Marius Văduva
Amir Hajiali | MYP Sciences teacher and DP Chemistry and Physics teacher
Amir is an Iranian instructor who teaches Sciences, specialized in Chemistry, Hydrology, Physics, Mechanics and Environmental Sciences. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master of Science in Environmental Engineering, and the Ph.D degree of Earth Science in 2013. He also accomplished his Postdoctoral in Geoecology in 2023. He has been teaching or conducting scientific research in different educational institutions, schools, colleges and universities in several different countries such as the UK, the USA, Iran, India, Armenia and Romania for more than 25 years.
Objectives:
‘Being into science makes almost all moments of my life being involved in experiments, exploration, findings and of course learning and actually having the desire of sharing what I have gained to the ones who deserve to learn more and more, the young generation, gives me a magnificent feeling that made me be a teacher. Witnessing their hunger of learning persuades me to be updated in science all the time. And also encouraging all my students to work on their capabilities to become successful persons for themselves and the whole world is a duty I have found in myself.’

Ileana Turcitu | Mathematics Teacher
Ileana graduated from the Pedagogical High School of Deva and the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Bucharest, class of 2001. She continued her studies with a Master’s programme entitled Banking and Insurance Financial Management. She has taught mathematics also at high school level, and currently shares her passion for numbers with Genesis College students. Her interests include reading and traveling.
Goals: “I believe in a sound education, both moral and intellectual. I strive to make my students reflective, alert to the spectacle of the world, to nuances and arguments, and also understand the need for rules and effort. Yes, effort, because children actually like to exercise their will. They experience the satisfaction of having succeeded in an exercise, of having understood and learned an algorithm, of feeling wiser today and better, perhaps, than yesterday.”

Diana Stanciu | Teacher of Romanian Language and Literature
Diana graduated from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Bucharest in 2017, Romanian Language and Literature – English Language and Literature, and in 2019 she received a Master’s degree in Advanced Studies in Linguistics at the same university. She is currently pursuing an MA in Didactics of Philological Disciplines at the University of Bucharest. She was a lecturer at the Cambridge Centre – Repere Association, a teacher assistant at Avenor College, an educational advisor at D Mediu Verde SRL (Bucharest), and since 2020 she has been teaching Romanian language and literature at Genesis College High School. In 2021 she completed the course for Language and literature: Implementing the MYP curriculum, and holds Cambridge TKT qualifications.
Goals: “Mark Van Doren said that the art of teaching is the art of supporting students to make their own discoveries. I firmly believe that every student has his or her own story and that, together, in language and literature classes, we manage to discover ourselves and write a new story, full of charm and magic. I aim for each class to be a unique experience that helps the student become the best version of themselves.”

Diana Stanciu | Profesor de limba și literatura română
A absolvit Facultatea de Litere a Universității din București în 2017, Limba și literatura română ‐ Limba și literatura engleză, iar în 2019 a absolvit masteratul în Studii avansate în lingvistică în cadrul aceleiași universități. În prezent urmează un master în Didactici ale disciplinelor filologice la la Universitatea din București. A fost lector în cadrul Cambridge Centre – Asociația Repere, teacher assistant la Avenor College, consilier învățământ în cadrul D Mediu Verde SRL (București), iar din 2020 predă limba și literatura română la Liceul Teoretic „Genesis College“. În 2021 a urmat cursul Language and literature: Implementing the MYP curriculum și deține calificările Cambridge TKT.
Obiective: „Mark Van Doren spunea că arta de a preda este arta de a sprijini propriile descoperiri ale elevilor. Cred cu tărie că fiecare elev are propria poveste și că, împreună, în cadrul orelor de limba și literatura română, reușim să ne descoperim și să scriem o nouă poveste, plină de tâlc și de magie. Îmi propun ca fiecare oră să fie o experiență unică care să-l ajute pe elev să devină cea mai bună variantă a sa.“
