Through this profession, I discovered myself and discovered the beauty of the child’s soul, where the desire to know, explore and give, grows in its most innocent form. ‘Curriculum is the mandatory raw material, but warmth is the necessary element to grow a plant and a child’s soul’ – Carl Gustav Jung.”

Vera Codreanu | Primary Education Teacher
Vera graduated from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the University of Bucharest, majoring in the pedagogy of primary and preschool education. She attended courses specific to alternative education systems, including the Montessori assistant teacher course. The courses and activities in the field of education were oriented towards the accumulation and merging of knowledge from both the traditional and alternative systems, the objective being to identify the best methods of facilitating the learning needed by each student. Before becoming a primary education teacher at Genesis College, she gained extensive experience in various areas of working with children, precisely to ensure that the role she was to play in her students’ lives would be a well-rounded one.
Goals: „In working with my students, everything is based on well-being. I want them to feel free, to be cheerful, to stimulate their creativity and to teach them that the will is the basis of many successes, even when we are not referring to the favorite activity. I like to focus on a harmonious development, to observe and guide the child in all aspects of his or her evolution: emotional, interpersonal, moral and academic. A child feels truly free, creative and joyful when a balance is created between all these. The joy of learning and the will (intrinsic motivation) are two concepts that I follow in my interaction with students. I love being around them, enjoying with them everything they discover and helping them feel valued. Through this way of thinking, I can hope that future adults will stand out through responsibility, conscious presence and sustained effort, elements that will bring advantages to both the self and the world in which we live.”
Vera Codreanu

However, being a teacher is much more than executing lesson plans. My mission is to help students learn how to use their knowledge, integrate it into their lives, and thus become valuable members of society. I like to think of myself as adapting learning methods to each student’s needs and thus succeeding in challenging and inspiring them to learn. Gabriela Niță | Primary Education Teacher
Gabriela is a graduate of the Faculty of International Relations the University of Economic Studies in Bucharest and the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. She obtained the final diploma in education, and her studies in the field of education were oriented towards the comparative analysis of the Romanian education system with other systems and towards the intensive analysis of the Finnish education system.
Among the relevant courses she attended, we mention: Character First (Character First Romania), Dare to Learn (Education Alliance Finland, Helsinki), Improving learning through graphic facilitation (Finnish Teacher Training Centre), Teaching techniques and methods from the system of Finnish Education (Finnish Teacher Training Centre), The Seven Skills of Effective Teachers (Wellbeing Institute), Socio-emotional Development of Children, and Disorders and Their Cognitive-behavioral Approach: Assumptions, Models and Techniques (Adrian Opre – Department of Psychology UBB Cluj Napoca), Developing Critical Global Perspectives (ECIS), Child Protection (ECIS).
Goals: „With the support of the two highly performing curricula (the IB curriculum and the Romanian one), my mission is to create effective learning contexts, in which each student assimilates information and acquires skills in the style and pace that suits him. But reaching the maximum potential is possible only by learning to understand ourselves, to be aware of what we feel, what we want and how we convey this to others. My goal is to raise children who love and respect balance and wellness, who influence the future both through their academic training and through the formation of solid character, who remain curious and flexible throughout their lives, who know how to bring their passions to life , which does not forget that attention and critical thinking are the greatest superpowers, which must be protected and trained.
And since we’re talking about strengths, I asked my wonderful students what they think is my superpower as a teacher. They listed that I lead them to find solutions without them realizing it, that I never let them give up, and that I always make even the most complicated things seem simple. My parents added that I would be selfless, organized, balanced, playful and very creative. I recognized in this profile the teacher I always wanted and wanted for my daughter. If I managed to find it in the characterization received from those to whom I dedicate my activity, I can only be proud and motivated to enjoy the spectacular journey with them every day.“
Gabriela Niță

Therefore, I am aware that my role in the life of young schoolchildren is to help them develop a complex of abilities, skills and knowledge aimed at giving them emotional balance, the courage to express their own ideas and opinions, confidence in their own strength, the motivation to fulfill all their dreams. With empathy, gentleness, flexibility, as well as through methods adapted to each one’s own learning style, I coordinate my students in the beautiful journey through the universe of knowledge, I show them the way and how they can discover new things, and we learn together and enrich our personal experience. Goals: „From the very beginning, we were looking for a different method to make children’s entry into the world of music pleasant and interactive. Discovering the active methods of teaching music Kodaly, Dalcroze and Orff were revelatory for me as a teacher, illuminating the path I have been on for several years, that of discovering the beauty of music to children, through play, experimentation and a lot of joy. The game for children is a means of development and expression and thus theory must follow practice, the child being able to affirm that he has experienced the elements that make up music (melody, rhythm, harmony, timbre, form…), thus being prepared, if he wishes, to approaches the study of a musical instrument.
And because this type of approach includes the development of attention, individual work, but also in groups, creativity and empathy, adaptability and free expression, I aim for the personal development of the child to merge with the musical one, thus having the prerequisites for knowledge and appreciation of music value.”
