Genesis Kipinä kindergarten: Our approach to the educational process
At Genesis Kipinä kindergarten we kindle the love for learning and knowledge in the hearts of children.
Genesis Kipinä, a kindergarten accredited by the Romanian Ministry of Education, integrated in 2021 the philosophy of the Finnish education programme for children, Kipinä, thus offering an innovative educational programme, unique in Bucharest.
At Genesis Kipinä Kindergarten we focus on the growth and development of children, encouraging and supporting them to reach their full potential. Through a holistic approach to learning, we help children acquire a series of skills necessary throughout life – social and communication skills, research and organization skills, and, above all, critical thinking ability. You can find out more about the Kipinä Programme here.
Education at
international standards
The combination of the Romanian Early Education Curriculum with the Finnish education methods of the Kipinä programme brings countless benefits for children’s development. The programme focuses on six directions of development, which create the foundation for obtaining good performance after kindergarten – learning the alphabet or acquiring logical-mathematical or communication skills.
The warm and natural learning environment, created to develop children’s imagination and creativity, qualified staff trained at Häme University of Applied Sciences in Finland – a prestigious institution that also trains educators in the Finnish education system –, individual learning plans, continuous communication between parents and educators, are also basic elements for children to progress naturally, at a pace adapted to the particularities of each of them. The result is the creation of a solid educational base, which allows, at the end of kindergarten years, the integration of children into any educational system.
Development directions
Learning based on guided play, but not exclusively, gives children a competitive advantage compared to education methods based only on free play or other approaches. The programme of activities carried out at Genesis Kipinä Kindergarten follows 6 directions, so that the little ones develop physically, emotionally, socially and cognitively.
The 6 directions of development:
- Cognitive development through exploration and play
- Networking and character development
- Numeracy
- Physical development and the importance of health awareness
- Cultural awareness and diversity
- Literacy, communication and language.
At Genesis, our educational programme offers children a safe, warm and enriching environment, where they learn through play. As educators, we collaborate with specialists in various fields, with our teachers by their side, to create a stimulating and fun learning environment.
Programmes that enrich the
Genesis Kipinä experience
In addition to current activities, the kindergarten curriculum is enriched with alternative activities that provide children with interesting experiences and opportunities to explore, through the options they have available. They are diverse and cover a wide range of children’s interests: English, dance, aikido, visual art, music, sports, personal development workshops. All of this is included in the tuition fee and organized according to age levels.
Genesis Kipinä Kindergarten offers an educational environment where children can cultivate their talents, and know and overcome their limits. The teachers involved in the programme put at the center of their pedagogical conception a respectful and positive attitude towards children, always approaching activities from the perspective of the age level, particularities and potential of each child.
Bilingual education:
Unlimited learning opportunities for children
Genesis Kipinä offers a bilingual English language learning programme addressing different topics studied during the school year. Various activities, as well as singing, movement, stories and games are tools used to familiarize children with English, which in time becomes a natural part of how they think and express themselves.
The intensive English programme is supported by English language coordinators, specialist teachers (sports, arts, music) and homeroom teachers and teacher assistants. Children also participate in activities and interact with a native-speaking teacher.
Bilingual programme
activities
English is used throughout the entire kindergarten programme. Teaching is done in a team-teaching system – specialized staff (homeroom teachers and teacher assistants) creating daily different contexts in which children can practice and learn new notions.
The materials used in the activities are varied and attractive, adapted to the age of children and suitable for play, sensory exploration, music and movement, mime and pantomime or role plays.
Story of the week and Song of the week, read or sung in the wonderful space of the Music & Reading Room, are also an important part of the bilingual programme. Each story and each song is chosen in such a way that it relates to the theme studied that week and conveys an educational message to the children.
Indoor play spaces, such as the Indoor Play Room, and outdoor playgrounds provide a good context for children to develop gross motor skills and social skills.
EduGarden is the outdoor learning space. Children have at their disposal comfortable furniture made of solid oak, for activities in nature – art, science, storytelling, music. Learning activities take place daily and outside the classroom, because at Genesis Kipinä Kindergarten, every moment is a moment of learning through exploration and discovery.
Friendship City, the small outdoor town, a representation of the community in which the little ones live, simulates real-life actions and allows children to practice various actions or pursuits – Market Place, Hospital, Police Station, and even a rural cottage, offer children the ideal context for developing practical life skills. The daily programme does not lack moments of games and play within the sensory areas – Mud Kitchen and the sandbox, equipped with the necessary accessories.
