Ioana Necula | Founder of Genesis College
The founder of Genesis College began his private education journey in 2000, with the desire to improve the Romanian educational environment through significant investments of time, money, and knowledge. They graduated from the Faculty of International Economic Relations and obtained an MBA from Solvay Brussels School Economics & Management. They completed a one-year Corporate Finance program at the London Business School. The desire to be more proficient in teaching led them to take courses at the Harvard School of Education, in addition to completing the pedagogical module at ASE Bucharest to become a professor of economics and entrepreneurship. They then studied for 2 years to obtain a degree in educational management. They are passionate about sports and the arts, having won medals in alpine skiing competitions in their youth, earning bronze level Schwinn cycling certifications, and taking courses in universal music organized by the University of Music Bucharest.
Objective: “The experience I have gained so far I have put it at the service of the Genesis community, with the desire to have young people in Romania who are involved and motivated and who will be able to build an educated, competent, and independent society.”

Mihaela Drăguş, the General Director of Genesis College, graduated from the Faculty of Letters at the University of Bucharest and holds two master’s programs in Public Relations and Human Resource Management. Lidia Velici | Director of Genesis College Middle School
Since high school, Lidia became interested in the field of education. She graduated from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, majoring in Pedagogy, at the University of Bucharest, and completed a master’s program in Management and Educational Evaluation. She is a fellow of the Faculty of Pedagogy at the University of Barcelona, Spain, where she obtained her doctorate in Educational Sciences in 2020. With extensive experience in developing modern educational programs, Lidia supports the implementation of international pedagogy through research programs, partnerships, and active involvement in the school’s success. She likes to stay up-to-date on new directions in education. Lidia is passionate about reading and traveling.

Nicoleta Stancu | Director of Genesis Kipina Kindergarten.
Nicoleta firmly believes that being a teacher is one of the most beautiful professions in the world. She’s been working in the education system for 27 years, and her professional training began with the Pedagogical High School in Bucharest. Later, she graduated from the Management Faculty at the Academy of Economic Studies and the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences with a specialization in primary and preschool teaching pedagogy. She has participated in numerous specialized courses and is an expert in educational management.
She joined the Genesis College team over 20 years ago and found that this is the right place to implement the projects she had dreamed of earlier, wishing to change something in the Romanian education system. Nicoleta has followed specialization courses in international programs, the International Baccalaureate (PYP), and Kipina, the Finnish education program – Finnish Early Childhood Education and Care Pedagogy, within HAMK Häme University of Applied Sciences.
Passionate about music, she studied piano and guitar and, in her childhood, was a member of the “Radio Children’s Choir.” Later, she became a member of the Euterpe Pedagogical High School choir and formed a preschool children’s choir that participated in various events.
Objectives: “Children are at the center of the learning experience and through the educational program at Genesis College that I coordinate, I want to awaken in children the love for learning that continues throughout their lives. Our program’s vision aims to grow and develop children to their full potential, guided by dignity, courage, love, and respect, with a desire for life and learning.”

Carmen Costea | Director of Genesis College Theoretical High School
Carmen is a graduate of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, specializing in Pedagogy, from the University of Bucharest, and holds a Master’s degree in Educational Management and Evaluation from the same university. She has participated in various educational courses and training programs, such as “Educating children without violence – Positive Discipline”, organized by the “Save the Children” foundation, or the training program “Methodology of school-professional counseling and guidance activities”, at the Institute of Educational Sciences. She also completed a specialization program to become a mentor. Carmen has extensive professional experience, being involved in various educational projects, from career counseling for the program “Innovation and performance in professional development of teachers in urban areas” to Trainer for Module III, “ICT and didactic strategy”. She has more than 20 years of experience in psycho-pedagogical counseling, both individual and group counseling. Prior to joining the Genesis team in 2017, Carmen was an “Orientation and Counseling Expert”, participating in the project “Validation of key competencies of students in Ilfov county”. She was also a psycho-pedagogical counselor – providing individual and group counseling, school and career guidance, program and educational project coordination. As an educator, her objective is to focus her attention on teamwork (teacher-student), self-organization, and initiative, balancing her role as a specialist in the field she studied and a trusted mentor for students. As the director of “Genesis College” High School, her goal is to inspire each student to feel welcomed and connected as part of the Genesis community. Her mission is to create a culture of inclusion in the school, where all students are integrated, and their voices matter and are heard. Personally, she is passionate about traveling and reading.

Dragoș Pârcălabu | Director of Educational Programs at "Genesis College" Theoretical High School.
This is the director of Genesis College, a history professor, and coordinator of the Genesis Events Center. He graduated from the History and Theology faculties at the University of Bucharest. His passion for interpreting ancient texts led him to pursue a master’s degree in Theology and Biblical Archaeology at the same university, and he is also a doctor of history from the Nicolae Iorga Institute of the Romanian Academy. He has been teaching History at Genesis College since 2014 and is the founder of the “ArtFel de Istorie” project, a school competition in which he has managed to involve other educational institutions throughout the country. The project was initiated by the Genesis Foundation in partnership with the National Museum of Romanian History and enjoyed success at the national level. Before joining the Genesis team, he worked on projects as an archaeologist and ethnographer.
As an educator, he enjoys teaching history to contribute to the education of young generations. He is eager to share the knowledge he has acquired using multiple resources to teach students about historical figures and events that shaped the world. As the director of Genesis College, he wants all Genesis students to excel in all subjects, including the Romanian and international program areas, and study at top universities worldwide after graduation. He is a passionate collector of icons, engravings, and antique weapons and an enthusiastic reader, enjoying traveling to places that have played an important role in history.

They have also published articles in specialized interior design magazines and authored a book on branding with a focus on the logo as the central element of visual identity. They initiated the Manga Arena comic book competition, the first competition dedicated to Japanese style enthusiasts in Romania. As part of the Genesis College faculty, they aim to motivate and guide future generations in the fascinating field of design and visual arts. Their aim in the IB program is to undertake cultural and social projects with students to facilitate personal development and creativity, and encourage students to not be afraid of failure.

Corina is a graduate of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Bucharest, with a specialization in French-English, as well as the Translation and Terminology Master’s program at the same university. She joined the Genesis team in 2009 and has 17 years of experience teaching English at both primary and middle school levels. She holds numerous certifications in the IB system, both as an MYP teacher and as a PYP teacher and program coordinator (MYP Language and Literature Course, Launching the MYP – Category 1 course, Category 1 – Making the PYP Happen, IB Virtual Conference 2020). Corina also participated in numerous professional development courses, including British Council courses for teachers preparing students for Cambridge exams, courses with education specialists (Florian Colceag, Ioan Neacșu, Dragoș Iliescu), and coaching courses (under the Mind Education umbrella), held over the years on the Genesis campus and beyond.
Corina believes that the PYP program is a real benefit for children, as they learn essential things about life and the world they live in, developing their communication, critical thinking, collaboration, empathy, tolerance, and open-mindedness skills in a harmonious way. She declares herself happy to work with primary school students, whom she loves for their enthusiasm, warmth, and sincerity.
Objectives: “Through the PYP themes proposed to children, I aim to stimulate and motivate my students, creating a dynamic environment in which they learn with pleasure. She has also been an associate teacher at Eucom Business Center and an IB English A examiner at the International Baccalaureate. As a teacher and coordinator at Genesis College, she has a great deal of experience with IB programs and preparing students for language exams. Alexandra aims to encourage students to continuously work on developing their creative thinking and pursue their passions, while also instilling in them the IB value of independent, analytical thinking and active participation in society.

With almost 14 years of experience in Romanian public and private education, Diana has become a creative, dynamic, and child-friendly teacher, always looking for new teaching methods. She graduated from the Faculty of Letters at Dunarea de Jos University, Galati, in the Romanian-English section and participated in several continuing education courses in both Galati and Bucharest. Throughout her career, Diana has taught English to primary and secondary school students and worked as a Teacher Assistant for the “English in the Community” Foundation in Peacehaven, East Sussex, England. In 2012, she joined Genesis College as an English teacher for preschool education. Andreea is a graduate of the Faculty of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences at Babeș-Bolyai University, specializing in Communication and Public Relations, and a Master’s degree in Political Communication – Political and Electoral Marketing at the National School of Political and Administrative Studies. She has diverse professional experience, having played the role of a communicator in both the public and private sectors. Currently, Andreea is a Communication and PR Specialist at Genesis College, ensuring that everyone has the information they need for things to run smoothly. Communication is her second nature, and she likes to say that she’s a communicator even before she knew she wanted to make it a profession. She believes that any situation, no matter how complicated, can be resolved when all parties involved discuss openly and are willing to listen to each other.
Objectives: Although it may seem like a cliché, she sees education as the only engine capable of initiating change, no matter what kind it is. Quality education should always be a goal. On the other hand, she knows that the most important tool each of us has at our disposal is words. And her mission, as she sees it, is to combine these two ideas that guide her and to contribute to promoting and passing on the messages and ideas of a system that builds the leaders of tomorrow.

Oana has a degree in Philology and over 23 years of experience in event organization, sales team coordination, marketing management, business development, communication, and PR. She is known for her perseverance and dedication in achieving her goals. Throughout her career, she has organized various business events for clients and potential clients from various industries – conferences, seminars, cocktails, galas, webinars, and more. In the business law market, she has worked for over 11 years in marketing, PR, and business development. She has coordinated sales teams both in media and advertising, for an important business portal in Romania, and in the area of advertising production, fairs, and exhibitions. After a while, she decided to use her knowledge and experience to make a difference in the world of education. As a specialist in communication and public relations, Oana handles the communication aspects of the school, including creating and delivering messages to students, parents, and the entire community, ensuring that all events are effectively promoted and information is delivered in a coherent and correct manner. She develops communication strategies to improve parents’ and communities’ involvement in students’ school activities and takes responsibility for developing and maintaining a positive image of the school.
Objectives: “I want to promote the school’s image to attract talented students and involve as many parents from the Genesis community as possible in the original campaigns we carry out.”

Aurelian graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Spiru Haret University and is an authorized network specialist. He is passionate about modern technology and likes to stay up to date on the latest digital trends, as evidenced by the certifications and courses he regularly participates in. In his professional portfolio, he has added a certificate as a Process Improvement Manager and one issued by Microsoft Technology Associate – Networking Fundamentals. He is passionate about film editing, sound design, and the latest multimedia equipment.
